Models are depicted of the cataphract and aphract type. With the cataphract design, oarsmen were protected on the sides and above from

missile fire. With the aphract design, they were unprotected unless by a leather screen along the side of the ship.

Kits contain separate sterns, masts, sails, etc. Detail has been deeply etched and oar banks have been stylized so that individual oars may be highlighted and the sea between painted.

Please note that some hulls are cast in resin (indicated by a *). All other castings are white metal.
